The Bendig-Moran Roasting, LLC provides speciallty roasted coffee produced ¡n the western mountalns of El Salvador known as Apaneca-Ilamatepeq mountain range, Cordillera Central ¡n Costa Rica and the Huehuetenango region in Guatemala. The farms where ¡t is produced are located 4,500 feet above sea level.
The trees are of the variety Arabica Bourbon; the plantations are all under shade trees and production practices are ¡n accordance to ecologlcal, social conscience and specialty coffee considerations.
Coffee plantations ¡n Central America, where coffee ¡s grown under shade trees, serve as a natural forest which protects our Eco-Ecological system and cooling of our planet.
The farms where ECO-DELIGHT Coffee is produced have been ¡n the hands of the current owners for many generations, assuring consistent production practlces which glve unique and superb qualities to the coffee beans that make our coffee deliciously flavored. The premium price paid to the farmers for their coffee allows them to promote health, education and dignified houslng for their cooperative members and workers.
Coffee cherries are selectively picked from the coffee trees and after harvesting they go through a wet process in the coffee mills which end product is coffee in parchment (pergamino) state. In parchment state coffee ¡s sun dried and stored ¡n the producing countries and ¡t can lasts up to 10 months before ¡t starts losing ¡ts organoleptic characteristics. The processes to produce the green coffee from the parchment coffee are called hulling, polishing, grading and sorting and this ¡s done only when the coffee is ready to be exported to the consumer countries.
Sorting, grading and final inspection are done carefully by mechanical, electronic and manual operations.
Green coffee ¡s imported and roasting/grinding and packaging ¡s then made ¡n our Roasting Plant ¡n Sulsun City, CA. Whole roasted coffee can last up to 6 weeks while ground roasted coffee can last 3 weeks before losing these special flavors and aromas that make ECO-Delight Coffee delicious.
